What are the items that you have to have? Lets help each other out by giving each other ideas of what they should include.

Copies of essential papers and ID such as Drivers Licenses, Passport, Insurance cards for both home, auto, and health (assuming those companies will still be around! Tongue), list of any known allergies, maybe even lists of family members/contacts.

All this easily packs and carry, wife is 5'3 and 118lbs she has no issues carrying her backpack

House is stocked, if have warning to move we have a 22ft trailer fully stocked for 1 month, if no warning we use BOB

All of the above in the first post, but I would add a Fire sub-kit and a Fasteners sub-kit (the blades and weapons are Unfasteners). Nylon zipstrips and duct tape are good beginners for fasteners.

Also, you might want to include Comms, like a pair of walkie-talkies, pencil flare-launchers, a signaling mirror, and a laser emitter for pinpoint signaling.

Medical history is very important, but as for personal info and papers, you don't want to be carrying those during a period of Occupation by opposing forces, so definitely have them in a separate waterproof container. Of course, barring a Near-Extinction Event, Occupation would almost be a worst-case scenario.
