Dried food storage
Ok, so like I said in my intro. I am pretty new to formal prepping. I have been putting back dried stuff like pasta, beans, and rice. After a recent trip to Wally World I got to thinking.

If something did happen where I had to actually eat this stuff, and that's all that I had to eat, not knowing when I could get more and assuming I could not secure game nor start some garden. If it most assuredly came down to rationing, just how much of the aforementioned should an adult and lets say pre teen child consume during a stressful situation both sedentary and active?

Where would one look for the info.? I have been trying to look it up on the web thinking surely someone has written about it. But so far "nada".

Thanks,
Devil Dog

RE: Dried food storage
Starters; least 1500/2000 calories a day

I would add oatmeal, flour and corn meal to your list

what you have listed:
rice approx 267 calories in 1 cup
beans approx 400 calories in 1 cup
pasta approx 220 calories in 1 cup (I would drop the posta)

other items:
Soybeans spinach Cashews would give you the highest yield of iron if meat isn't available

We who are ready will survive for we are mentally equipped to do so
