Your Preferred Survival Knife?
What is your preferred survival knife and why? Post or link to pictures if you can.

I have a Gerber LMF II, but have been disappointed with the soft handle material:

I'm thinking of getting a Becker BK9 next:

The older version uses carbon-v (50100b steel) the newer ones use aus8a steel

FYI, the ka-bar is 1095 cro. van. carbon steel (50100b)

Both ka-bar and the older srk is the same metal Wink

RE: Your Preferred Survival Knife?
Another point, I've have seen many upon many gerber being one of them having some of there knifes manufactured in china, in the majority of knifes coming from china the steel is 420 garbage not 440c and the carbon blades are either to hard or to soft, the gerber carbon blades made in china are too hard snapping under pressure even gerber 440c blades made in china are too hard so the firing control process leaves much to be desired!

I have been extremely critical of BG (bear grylls) branded gerber blades (made in china) they break so damn easy (buy at your own risk) if the broken handle doesn't draw blood then watch for the blade!
